REWARDS Training & Support

Although it is not required, REWARDS training is an integral part of implementing the program in the classroom. There are two types of training available

Implementation Training

Offered in half- or full-day sessions, REWARDS implementation training focuses on how to deliver instruction that increases reading fluency using flexible decoding strategies, how to guide student practice and application, and how to provide feedback. The goal of this training is to prepare teachers to enter the classroom and teach the REWARDS lessons. Please contact for more information.

Training of Trainers (TOT) for Local Capacity Building

This two-day workshop is designed for general and special education curriculum directors, reading specialists, staff developers, and teachers who are familiar with the REWARDS program and ready to train staff at their school, district, or area agencies in the implementation of the REWARDS program. Participants will have the opportunity to practice the key elements of the program from both student and teacher perspectives.

A menu of services is available for districts to customize an ongoing support plan to meet their needs. Implementation support includes but is not limited to:
